Neighborhood

What a neighborhood! It’s new, it’s exciting, and it’s changing almost daily. In fact, there’s nothing like it anywhere else in Boston.  Start with the waterfront itself—open to sun, breezes and fabulous water views.  It’s edged by the HarborWalk, perfect for winding down, clearing your head or getting into your daily run.  And it’s filled with a growing number of restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions.

Let’s eat! You have your choice of everything from casual outdoor cafés to superb celebrity chef restaurants.  There’s great seafood, of course, but lots of other choices for everyone from quick snackers to serious foodies.

Let’s play! Both Boston’s dynamic new Institute of Contemporary Art and the Bank of America pavilion are located right on the water, along with harbor island cruises, sunset cruises and whale watches. And don’t forget the New England Aquarium.  All of these are great for families….and just as much fun if you’re traveling solo.

Let’s shop! More and more shops and boutiques are moving to the waterfront, including the venerable LouisBoston, which recently traded its classic Back Bay location for a contemporary new home on Fan Pier. Quincy Market beckons just a few blocks beyond with more than 100 shops and restaurants in buildings that have been in part of Boston life for more than 250 years.

Let’s take in the sights! The Waterfront is just a few minutes’ walk from some of Boston’s best-loved monuments and destinations like Faneuil Hall, the Old State House, Paul Revere’s house and the Old North Church.

Let’s go! No neighborhood in Boston is more accessible than the waterfront.  On foot, you can connect up with the Rose Kennedy Greenway,  the Freedom Trail—the painted red line on the sidewalk that takes you throughout historic Boston—or the trolleys that can take you as far as Fenway Park or across the Charles River to see “Old Ironsides.”  By bus or subway, car or foot, you can get anywhere from the waterfront.  And, of course, you’re welcome to stay right here and enjoy this unique neighborhood.
